Sahu Sugar Revdi — also known as Chini Revdi, Sugar Rewari, or Chini Til Revdi — is a traditional Indian sesame sweet handcrafted at our family facility in Menpura, Sawai Madhopur, Rajasthan. Made by the Sahu family since 1875, this sugar-based revdi combines roasted sesame seeds with sugar and cow ghee — shaped into small coin-sized crispy pieces. No preservatives, no liquid glucose, no artificial colour. The 250g pack is our smallest Sugar Revdi size — ideal for first-time buyers, return gifting, and festival hamper additions. Also available in 400g and 500g.
Revdi — also called rewari, revri, or til revdi — is one of the oldest traditional sesame sweets in India, made across Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, and Haryana. The word revdi refers to the small, round, coin-shaped form of the sweet — distinct from flat gajak or thick chikki. Sugar Revdi uses refined sugar instead of jaggery, giving it a paler colour and a lighter, cleaner sweetness. Sahu Gajak Bhandar has been making Revdi in Menpura, Sawai Madhopur, Rajasthan since 1875 — one of the oldest continuously operating traditional sweet makers in Rajasthan.
Sahu Gajak Bhandar makes two styles of Revdi. Sugar Revdi is made with sugar — lighter, paler, and cleaner in taste, with a more delicate sweetness. Til Revdi (Jaggery Revdi) is made with natural jaggery (gur) — deeper, more earthy, and richer in flavour. Both are coin-shaped sesame sweets; the difference is entirely in the sweetener and the resulting colour and taste. Sugar Revdi suits those who prefer a milder, cleaner sweetness; Til Revdi suits those who enjoy the deeper flavour of jaggery.
Each piece delivers a light, crispy crunch — roasted sesame seeds bound in sugar with the warm fragrance of cardamom. The sugar coating gives it a cleaner, brighter sweetness compared to jaggery revdi. Small, bite-sized, and easy to share — this is the childhood candy that most Indians remember from their grandparents' homes, local sweet shops, and school days.
