Sahu Gajak Bhandar Rajasthani Tilkut Gajak 500g | Tilkut | Buy Tilkut Online | Sesame Jaggery Tilkut | Family Everyday Size | Traditional Rajasthani Sweet
Sahu Rajasthani Tilkut Gajak 500g is a traditional Rajasthani sesame jaggery tilkut made with roasted sesame seeds (til), jaggery (gur), sugar, cow ghee, and clove — hand-pounded into a dense, crumbly tilkut block. It is firm, nutty, vegetarian, and perfect for daily snacking, gifting, and year-round family use.
Prepared in small batches by Sahu Gajak Bhandar in Menpura, Sawai Madhopur, Rajasthan using a traditional family recipe since 1875, Sahu Tilkut is made by slow-roasting sesame seeds, cooking natural jaggery and cow ghee together, and hand-pounding the warm mixture in a traditional mortar — releasing the natural oils from the sesame and binding everything into a dense, crumbly block. The 500g is our family everyday size — the right amount for a household to enjoy through the week. Also available in 250g and 700g.
Sahu Rajasthani Tilkut — also known as Tilkut Gajak, Tilkut Sweet, Tilkut Mithai, Kutema Gajak, Til Kutema, Tilkutri, or Til Katri — is a traditional Rajasthani sesame sweet handcrafted at our family facility in Menpura, Sawai Madhopur, Rajasthan. Made by the Sahu family since 1875, this tilkut combines roasted sesame seeds with natural jaggery (gur) and cow ghee — hand-pounded into a dense, crumbly block. No preservatives, no liquid glucose, no artificial colour.
Gajak Biscuit is made by repeated hand-hammering of sesame and jaggery — producing thin, flat, crispy, flaky sheets. Tilkut is made by hand-pounding roasted sesame seeds and jaggery in a traditional mortar — producing a dense, crumbly block with a firmer bite and a deeper, more intense sesame flavour. Same core sesame-jaggery ingredients; the pounding process concentrates the sesame taste in a way that hand-hammering does not. Tilkut is the older, more labour-intensive preparation.
Gaya Tilkut from Bihar is typically shaped into thin flat discs and does not use cow ghee — lighter, whiter, and crispier. Rajasthani Tilkut from Sahu Gajak Bhandar is made with natural jaggery (gur) and cow ghee, shaped into denser blocks — darker, earthier, more caramel in sweetness, and richer in flavour. Two regional styles of the same traditional tilkut sweet.
Each piece of Sahu Rajasthani Tilkut has a firm, crumbly bite — denser than flaky gajak biscuit, with a deeper sesame jaggery flavour that comes from slow-roasting and hand-pounding. The jaggery provides rich natural sweetness; the sesame releases its natural oils to give a warm, rounded nuttiness; the cow ghee adds a subtle richness; and the clove adds a warm, spiced depth. A tilkut that tastes genuinely traditional.

Q: What is Tilkut?
A: Tilkut — also known as Tilkut Gajak, Tilkut Sweet, Kutema Gajak, or Tilkutri — is a traditional Rajasthani sweet made with roasted sesame seeds (til), jaggery (gur), cow ghee, and clove — hand-pounded into a dense, crumbly block. One of the oldest and most labour-intensive traditional Indian sesame sweets.
Q: What is the difference between Tilkut and Gajak Biscuit?
A: Gajak Biscuit is hand-hammered into thin, flat, crispy, flaky sheets. Tilkut is hand-pounded into a dense, crumbly block — firmer, denser, and with a deeper sesame flavour. Same core ingredients; entirely different preparation and texture.
